Giving an overall scenario of blockchain, Haris mentioned that Malaysia is one of the countries where there is a rapid involvement of blockchain.
“The Government, private companies and many other parties are actively trying to get into this space. Currently at Blockchain Technology Malaysia 60 to 70 percent of our clients are from abroad, however we have a couple of projects in the pipeline within Malaysia.”
How it works
In further explanation of how blockchain works Haris gave students real life examples for a better understanding.
“There are four essential elements that make up blockchain namely cryptography, peer to peer network, consensus algorithms and contracts enforced by code.”
For students who want to explore blockchain technology, Haris mentioned that the sooner they learn about it the better because it is a vibrant and upcoming field.
“Students need to possess an understanding of how blockchain works and good business knowledge of the industry where they are coming from.”
“If you want to pursue your career as someone who works in blockchain for business, get to know more about your field and how you can disintermediate people and networks within your industry. Or if you are a coder and want to learn blockchain start exploring bitcoin codes, iterium codes, start developing smart contracts and know how all this works, this is probably the easiest way a person from a tech or business can get into this space.”
In closing, Adil Haris applauded Limkokwing University for its creative way of teaching, “I think the practice Limkokwing has is amazing it has a good cultural and global community set up where students can talk about their experience from multiple perspectives.”
