A Tajikistan Student Celebration was held in conjunction with Tajikistan National Day at the The Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Cyberjaya on Monday.
It was organized by the Tajik students at the University and opened to Tajik students from all other universities in Malaysia. There were 50 Tajik students in attendance together with around 300 students from 150 countries at the University’s Hall of Fame celebrating cultural performance by Tajik students in the form of songs and dances as well as a Tajik wrestling activity. The students also demonstrated the ceremonial process of a Tajik traditional wedding. A mini exhibition of the many interesting mountainous sights and tourist spots in Tajikistan were also displayed for the public.
The programme was organized by Tajikistan student ambassadors at the University, Shavkat Aslam Shoev and Sohroob Rahimjonov.
His Excellency Tan Sri Dato Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing, Honorary Consul for Tajikistan in Malaysia joined the students and congratulated the people and government of Tajikistan mentioning greetings to Their Excellencies, President Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, First Deputy Prime Minister Matlubkhon Davlatov, Deputy Prime Ministers Murodali Alimardon and Ruqiya Qurbanova, and each and every Tajik present in the hall, on the occasion of its National Day.
He also expressed his desire to see greater support for collaboration between Malaysia and Tajikistan especially in the areas of education and trade in supporting our Government’s Globalisation efforts.
