Olympic Council of Malaysia eye partnership with Limkokwing University

Limkokwing University hosted The Deputy President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Abd Azim Mohd Zabidi and Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Michelle Chai on 6 February 2020 - who met with the University’s Founding President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Limkokwing, to discuss a possible collaboration.
The Olympic Council of Malaysia is the National Olympic Committee representing Malaysia and the body responsible for Malaysia’s representation at the Commonwealth Games.
Upon arrival, the delegation was given a full tour of the Presidential Library where they witnessed some of the finest achievements both by the University and its Founder Tan Sri Limkokwing.
The collaboration between Limkokwing and The Olympic Council of Malaysia will offer the retiring athletes scholarships at Limkokwing University to acquire industry knowledge and skill-sets that will ensure them a successful future.
Dato’ Seri Abdul Azim said Limkokwing is known for the meaningful and amazing impact it has on people’s lives, which is why he strongly believes partnering with Limkokwing University would lead to a mutually beneficial future.
“We are very keen to work with Limkokwing University. We’ve checked from your website that the University offers a programme in Sports Management which encouraged us to discuss collaboration opportunities with the University,” said Dato’ Seri Abdul Azim.
“Limkokwing’s history says a lot. It is amazing what the University has done so far,” he added.
Additionally, Dato’ Seri Abdul Azim offered an internship opportunity for one Limkokwing student at the Olympic Council of Malaysia.
With regard to the 2020 Olympics that will be taking part this year in Tokyo, the representatives offered a media partnership with the University.
Limkokwing University collaborates with Governments, private organisations and key players in the industry to promote economic development and progress. This ensures that the University possesses a grounded industry focus on its educational programmes to produce globally employable graduates.
