Limkokwing University's international student community could be a key play in taking Malaysian franchises internationally.

Malaysian Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives, and Consumerism (MDTCC) Senior Principal Assistant Director of Franchise Development Division, En. Ismainur Hadi bin Amat Bakeron recently addressed Limkokwing University students in regard to franchising in Malaysia.

The talk was titled ‘Franchise Industry in Malaysia – getting it right the first time’, and it focused on developing a quality, sustainable, viable and competitive Franchise business locally.

MDTCC’s Franchise Development Division deals with acquiring and running a franchise business in Malaysia. It aims at creating a robust and dynamic franchise industry in Malaysia, through creative awareness of the franchise industry among Malaysian, as well as the encouragement of ethical franchising which promotes expansion into international markets by local franchises, hence contributing to the national Gross Domestic Production by the franchise industry.

En. Ismainur discussed ways of starting a business in Malaysia, and how to develop and grow a franchise successfully. He advised the local students to take local franchises beyond Malaysian boarders as a way to globalize Malaysian products and services.

He applauded the University on businesses running on campus, which encourages entrepreneurship among students, and said he was keen on doing a follow up on franchise opportunities with Limkokwing University, especially Wing’s café.
