Limkokwing University of Creative Technology welcomed the esteemed YB P. Kamalanathan, the Deputy Minister of Education on campus to launch the 'Healthy Kidneys Longer Life' campaign, a joint effort between the university and the National Kidney Foundation. Also present were NKF Vice Chairman Goh Seng Chuan and NKF Chief Executive Officer Chua Hong Wee.

The Limkokwing campus played host to the ‘Healthy Kidneys Longer Life’ campaign as it set up several stations for the students to check their blood pressure and glucose sugar levels, and Health Ministry workers set out to educate the students lounging at the Plaza on the benefits of keeping their kidneys healthy and how they were to go about it. Deputy Minister P. Kamalanathan himself demonstrated the use of the stations to check the health of his kidneys, a point that he brought up in his speech in the Hall of Fame.

Speaking to members of the student body as well as the media, the Deputy Minister stressed that even the busiest of people must take extra care of their health, as he himself underwent regular checkups to ensure his blood pressure was regulated, and scheduled his day in such a way that there was enough time for his body to recover even with his stressful schedule. He jokingly told the students that even he got nervous waiting for the results of his checkup at the stations earlier, as he as a Deputy Minister had to set an example for the people by living a healthy lifestyle.

The campaign was officially launched with representatives of the National Kidney Foundation taking the stage with Vice President Dato Fajura and the Deputy Minister, flanked by the mascots of the campaign. Commemorative posters were also exchanged in recognition of the collaboration between the university and the National Kidney Foundation, and the Limkokwing University choir proceeded to treat the audience with an upbeat performance of the campaign’s official theme song.
