2 January 2017
The Limkokwing Class of 2016 graduated on 14 December at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
The graduation theme is ‘Future Leaders of the World’, defining the calibre and mind-set of Limkokwing graduates.
All graduates of the University have been empowered to play an important part in addressing some of the most pressing global issues today. They have acquired the expertise and skills which are valued broadly, and which will help them in many ways.
In his welcome address, Limkokwing Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Cedric Bell congratulated the graduates and reminded them that they are leaving the University to start the next chapter in their lives. He also said that the graduates are undergoing their coming-of-age at a time when the world is going through its most dramatic change and transformation.
“This is the most exciting time in your life. There are tremendous opportunities for you to build a fulfilling and rewarding global career. You should approach your future with confidence and assurance because you are equipped for success on the global stage,” he said.
He also remarked that the graduates now have a global advantage as they have met, befriended, worked alongside and shared life experiences with many young people from different countries during their time in the campus.
David Jesus Granadillo Di Gravia from Venezuela, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Professional Communication, said that he found his inner being at Limkokwing, and this has fulfilled his life.
“Limkokwing has given colour to all the white and black walls. It’s a garden full of ethnicities. It welcomes everyone no matter what they are or what they are meant to be, where they come from, what religion they believe in—and that my friends, is the greatest environment for students to find their inner peace,” he said.
Over 1,000 students from 63 countries received their graduation scrolls from Limkokwing University Chancellor, Her Royal Highness Sultanah Pahang, Sultanah Dr Hajjah Kalsom.
