New ASP of Cyberjaya Police voices interest to collaborate with Limkokwing University

Only one month on the job as the new Police Chief of Cyberjaya Police, ASP Mohamad Zaidi Bin Osman graciously accepted our invitation to attend the Founder’s Day celebration at Limkokwing University on October 22, 2022.

Founder’s Day was held to mark the birthday of our late Founder, Tan Sri Dato Sri Paduka Limkokwing and commemorate his achievements spanning over 50 years of service in the field of creative technology education, philanthropy and national campaigns.

The other VIP invited was Puan Nor Suhaila Binti Saat, Pengarah Jabatan Khidmat Pengurusan, Majlis Perbandaran Sepang.

They were warmly received by Limkokwing Vice President Dato Dania Wahab and the Chairman of the Board of Governing Council Dato’ Raja Aznil Bin Raja Hisham and Vice-chancellor Dato’ Prof Dr Hj Mohd Razali Agus and Limkokwing students, faculty heads and staff who gave them a loud and rousing welcome.

Also invited were about 200 special guests - orphans from Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Limpahan Kasih, Rumah Anak Yatim dan Asnaf, Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa, Rumah Anak Yatim Mary and Maahad Tahfiz Darul Aida - accompanied by their respective principles Puan Siti Hajar Ismail, Norhayati Bt Wan Abib, Miss Mala and Ustaz Ariffin.

Later, at the Hall of Fame, ASP Mohamad Zaidi together with Puan Nor Suhaila Binti Saat joined the rest of the audience to witness various activities - welcoming speeches, a series of memorable videos about our late Founder and the presentation of Limkokwing Founder’s Day scholarships to the orphanages.

In his speech, Dato’ Raja Aznil Bin Raja Hisham put it succinctly, “we are here to celebrate life” and added, “Ybhg Tan Sri Dato Sri’s Paduka Limkokwing’s life was a life well-lived.”

Motivating his young audience, Dato Raja Aznil said “creativity is in everyone” and this “power of creativity” can shape their future as global leaders.

Later, Vice-chancellor Dato’ Prof Dr Hj Mohd Razali Agus addressed his distinguished audience.

He said, “On this day it is good that we highlight the great contributions of the late Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Limkokwing in philanthropic activities and the world of higher education, creativity, innovation, leadership, design and contributing to our homeland Malaysia, the African continent and globally.”

Speeches over, the guests were entertained by a selection of videos documenting Tan Sri’s 50 years of Transforming Lives Transforming Nations, a compilation of his speeches and the Limkokwing International Cultural Festival 2019 segment. They gave the audience an insightful glimpse into the late Founder’s illustrious journey as the man who brought Malaysia to the world and the world to Malaysia through his unique brand of creative technology education.

After the Hall of Fame events, ASP Mohamad Zaidi and Puan Nor Suhaila joined the kids and others at the Plaza for more activities. He too willingly left his handprints on the board much to the delight of the children and guests.
ASP Mohamad Zaidi said he was honoured to be present to witness the Founder’s Day commemoration and to learn more about Tan Sri Limkokwing as an educator and nation-builder.

“I feel extremely happy to be invited to join in the Founder’s Day celebration today to commemorate the memory of the late Tan Sri Limkokwing.”

The Cyberjaya Police Chief added, “It is also an opportunity for me to experience the Limkokwing University campus environment since assuming my post as Ketua Polis Cyberjaya a month ago.”

In the video interview, the ASP also expressed his desire for PDRM to work with the University on matters of mutual interest.

“In terms of collaboration, PDRM is ready to work with Limkokwing to educate university students on local laws, discipline and safety aspects within and outside the campus.”

He later mingled with the kids. One of them, Aminah Sadah bte Mohd Nizam from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Putra Perdana expressed her delight, “I am so happy to leave my handprints as a memory of my visit here.”

Limkokwing University has a proven history of working together with PDRM over the decades and this is yet another opportunity for the University to take the level of cooperation to new heights.
