Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Professional Design (Visual Communication)
The Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Professional Design (Visual Communication) is a three-year honours degree that aims to progressively develop the students’ creative potential in conceptualising and using innovative technical skills. During their first three semesters of study, students will acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills of a graphic designer with direct exposure to the industry in the areas of corporate communications, multimedia and illustration. By their fourth semester, students will gain eleven weeks of practical industry experience.
In the final year, students will specialise and develop deeper knowledge in an area of their choice, which includes advertising and multimedia with supporting subjects in animation, web technology and marketing. Equipped with entrepreneurship and design management knowledge, our graduates will enter the industry with the confidence to succeed and ready to take their careers at a global level.
“One of my biggest achievements so far is that I was able to obtain a degree from such a reputable University – the knowledge and the experience I obtained studying at Limkokwing enabled me to be a successful business owner. Based on what I have learned from my skilled lecturers and fellow students I have come a long way not just from my design skill set but life in general. Over the years I have learned to appreciate people of different cultures, how to become confident, and importantly “Innovation” taking something already existent and making it more suitable to the current times.”

“When I started my degree I was quite nervous since I wasn’t familiar with most of the design software that I now use on a daily basis. With the help from my lecturers and a lot of practice, I was able to explore and learn the design process while also working on my technical skills.”

“Having a good idea is one thing, but persuading other people to buy it is quite another. Good inventors are polymaths: they think with their hands and their brains. They’re experts in design, engineering and business.”
