The dinner was for the one hundred FELDA students who had gone to study in United Kingdom for a semester, under the ‘Generasi Global’ programme. The programme is an initiative to take students out of rural setups and give them an opportunity to a competitive education in today’s global world. Limkokwing University has been educating FELDA students since year 2005, and the one hundred students became the first batch from FELDA to have an opportunity to a global education abroad.
Dinner held for Generasi Global students, at Limkokwing University Hall of Fame.
After dinner was served, a video presentation of the students’ journey in London was played for the guests, showing the students’ experience throughout their stay in London. The students talked about what they have learnt in London, and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to study in a global environment.
Two of the students who had gone to London, Amirul Fikri Bin Abdul Malik, who studied Graphic Design, and Irza Aniza Binti Ideris, a Bachelor of International Business graduate, gave speeches on their experience in London.
Amirul Fikri said he was very excited when he got a call from Limkokwing University saying he would be pursuing his studies in Limkokwing London. He was grateful to the university for helping him achieve his dreams, he’d never forget the time he spent in London, and promised to use the experience he gained to full advantage. He said:
“My memories of London for four months will never fade. I, as well as other students will never disappoint the hope that the government, Tan Sri Limkokwing, FELDA organization, lecturers and parents have put on us.”

Irza Aniza, who, as a Global Graduate, chose to deliver her speech in English, asked for a standing ovation from all the FELDA students for their parents. She said they were the luckiest FELDA generation; they got a chance to explore a new environment and study in a global setting. She felt lucky to have visited places like BBC network, Apple offices, and many more. She said the programme was a new beginning for FELDA students to step up and improve their lives.
“I hope the programme will give a new pathway for a new journey, and I hope the FELDA Global Generation graduates will stand up and help to improve the development of FELDA programme, and contribute for excellent development,” she said.
Speaking at the event, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor thanked Tan Sri Limkokwing for the ‘commitment and hard work in making this programme a good one, and improving the FELDA students’ education life.’”
She said when she arrived in the campus, she “felt students were very happy here, parents don’t have to worry much because the students are in a very good place to study.” She urged the young generation to take advantage of opportunities available to them, and also delivered a similar message from the Prime Minister.
Generasi Global students presented Datin Paduka Rosmah with a ‘Thank You’ poster and a bouquet of flowers.
Extending gratitude to Limkokwing University for its contribution in developing rural people, she said:
“Once again I would like to thank Limkokwing University for partnering with the government to help bridge the economic gap between urban and rural areas. This is an important effort that ensures the rural population does not continue to be marginalised. Instead, they are also able to enjoy the transfer of technology, skills and knowledge of their urban counterparts.”
She then launched the ‘Kelab Generasi Global’, a club for all FELDA students in Limkokwing University, so that they can interact, share and discuss knowledge and experiences.
Datin Seri Rosmah went on to give tribute to all Generasi Global mothers for supporting their children, titling the tribute ‘Kasihnya Ibu’, which translates to ‘Mother’s love’. The tribute was received by Painah Surip, mother of the late Mohd Fazli Fadzillah, a Creative Imaging and digital Photography Generasi Global student, who died after a jog while he was in London. The university choir followed the tribute with a song of the same name, dedicated to all the mothers.
At the closing of the event, Datin Seri Rosmah took a group photograph with all the Generasi Global students, where they expressed their gratitude by presenting her with a ‘Thank You’ poster and a bouquet of flowers.
