Invited and hosted by Japan Tourism, Low Yen Shan and Thoh Ying Qian represented Limkokwing University as the only foreign student designers, showcasing alongside Mr. Azuma, Si Hoang, Ms. Mina Watanabe, Lin Heng Cheng, and Lai Chan from Vietnam, Taipei, Japan and Singapore. The showcase also featured Japanese universities Osaka Bunka, Tokyo Mode Gakuen, Osaka Mode Gakuen and Marronnie Fashion Academy.

The duo’s collection was inspired by customary Japanese sentiments. Low Yen Shan’s designs were inspired by the Japanese Kabuki mask which has been worn for years for the stylization of drama and elaboration of make-up applied by performers during theater shows and Thoh Ying Qian based her designs on the Japanese fortuity symbol ‘The Khoi Fish’.
